THIRD SESSION OF MOVIE-MAKING

Hey ya'll. So in today's session of movie-making, we learnt about all the different positions for the crew of filming. Example: Director, Production Manager, Gaffer, Audio Recordist, Producer, Director of Photography etc. We learnt the different things that these crew have to do behind the scenes. And i was really shocked. There are seriously so many things to do backstage and off camera. I was amazed.

The director really seems like the 'captain' of the whole production and i think he is. Without the director, the whole film would just die i swear. But everyone else is important as well. I really learned alot about what goes on when the camera is off. We also did the breakdown of the script and it was quite tedious but according to the instructor, she said it makes the filming more smooth. So I guess its quite important to do the breakdown. I also learnt about call sheets and talent release forms.

Budget is also important for those films that are gonna be shown everywhere. But for small films like ours its not really very important. We also highlighted, in a twilight script, the characters, props and location like interior or exterior. It was also quite tedious but it helps during the filming and shooting.

I also learnt about casting and ethics for borrowed locations. Always be considerate, cleanliness etc. The instructor was very nice and she told us about some of her past experiences. Also when you have to 'stop traffic' when you want to take a scene and there are people walking past, you have to politely tell them to wait. It was very educational. So yeah. SESSION NUMBER TWO!

Hello people reading this. Today was the second session and to be honest...it was kinda fun but kinda boring. but still kinda fun. we learnt about the different camera angles and i was quite surprised because i didnt think there was so many. I also learnt about storyboarding and that we must draw it out. I also saw the different kinds of camera angles in photos and tried to remember them to use for the final video.

I also started writing out ,with my group-mate Dinah, the script after planning the storyline. I was happy that my group gave ideas for the story that we were gonna do. I'm also happy for the advice the instructors gave us to help with our video.

For this second session I also realised how much you can convey using just pictures and it was really amazing. We did a scenario using only pictures and we had to find a way to show what we wanted in still life. So no audio or video and it was a little challenging but it was really really funny and I had alot of fun like just during those fifteen minutes. And walking around you can see all the other groups taking photos for their scenarios and laughing.

I was very happy when i saw the photos because its really funny but at the same time it conveys the message you want to send and what you want your audience to see your talking about. I also thought the instructors were very fun and helpful with our scenarios and helping out our photography pieces. Oh and Mr. Singh was on the scene taking photos as well. :)

FIRST SESSION

Hey everyone. Today we went to Sinema Old School to learn about the different stories and the genres of all kinds of movies. It was quite okay and I learnt alot about the different kinds of stories that we can tell. It was interesting to find out more about what we were going to do and also to see clips of short movies and how you do not need professional film equipment at times.

Even though i thought the session was interesting, i felt abit scared to start the project and to start learning because I might not understand what to do or something. But i just told myself that I'll never know if I dont try. So i'm like trying my best to get ideas for our final project. The instructor was very nice and she was easy to understand for this first session.

Thats all I have to say for the first session. So bye!! :)
